CAPE CLASP & FRIENDS' MISSION TO SAVE THE ORCAS

At Cape Clasp, we are dedicated to our mission of saving the oceans and the creatures that call it home. We’re also dedicated to decreasing our carbon footprint and fighting climate change. So through our partnership with Climate Neutral, we’ve decided to merge those passions and purchase our carbon credits in support of Promise the Pod, an organization that brings together habitat restoration programs to save the orcas.

As of October 2020, there are only 73 individual Southern Resident orcas living along the west coast. These orcas, whose major food source is salmon, are on the brink of extinction (due to a severe lack of that food source). Promise the Pod works with programs that restore streams that feed the pacific ocean, plant trees that benefit regional habitats, and engage the next generation of people who care about orca whales and the environment they live in. 

When we became Climate Neutral Certified, we committed to reducing our carbon footprint by investing in organizations that are helping to restore the environment. We believe that these Southern Resident Orcas deserve a clean environment that helps them not only survive, but thrive - which is why we support Promise the Pod. 

15% of profits from every sale at Cape Clasp go back to organizations like Promise the Pod. It’s our way to say thank you to those out there fighting the good fight.
