Join Fisher and Go Plastic-Free this Month
It’s no secret that we have a problem with plastics. We rely on single-use plastics so much that it’s having a tragic impact on our environment. In fact, eight million tons of plastic winds up in the ocean each year. To put this into perspective, that’s the equivalent of one garbage truck full of plastic being dumped in the ocean every single minute.
That’s why Fisher has decided to go plastic-free this month and he wants you to join him. Sign up for the challenge below and you can redeem a free Cape Clasp Pin as a reminder to #makewaves:
All month long, do your part and:
Ditch the straw. No more plastic straws! Every single day, Americans use 500 million plastic straws. Either skip the straw entirely, or invest in a sustainable version made from glass, steel, or bamboo.
Keep the cup. It might be convenient to grab a bottle of water when you’re on the run or order your iced coffee in a disposable cup, but both of these choices are harming the environment. Instead, carry a reusable water bottle or tumbler. You might even get a discount from your favorite coffee shop!
Bring the bag. Plastic bags can’t be tossed in your recycling bin and they kill countless marine animals. This month, take a reusable bag with you whenever you shop.
Take the trash. By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Next time you’re at the beach or exploring nature, pick up and toss any trash you come across and protect more marine animals from harm. |
Together, we can make a difference and cut down on the plastic that’s choking our oceans.
Thank you for helping Cape Clasp #makewaves!
Best,
Pat
